Hermitage Park is located in the north end of the city, just off of Victoria Trail.
Heavily used urban park featuring ponds, naturalized hiking trails and picnic sites. The washroom building is on the road to the right as you enter the park. There is a large off-leash dog area.
Season to visit:
Spring and fall
The ponds have dabbling ducks and geese. The quieter ponds are a good spot for herons. There are often interesting waterfowl migrants early or late in the season. Warblers also use the park during migration so check the shrubby edges. There is a trail that gives a river view for more duck species and perhaps a Bald Eagle.
