Leduc: Telford Lake and Fred Johns Park
South of Edmonton
Hwy 2 south to Leduc. Please see map for detailed directions.
These are urban parks with wide, paved paths passing by water. Lots of runners and family groups use the trails. On site picnic tables. Porta potties at both sites are on the south side of the lakes.
Season to visit:
Spring, summer and fall for birding.
The waterfowl become tame and provide good opportunities for close viewing and photogaphy. A variety of ducks, grebes and geese nest here. Grackles and Purple Martins can be found at Telford Lake in particular. Songbirds are often found in the lakeside shrubbery.
