- Grassland, shrubs and patchy tree cover are typical of the sunny north side of the river valley. The slopes face south and receive direct sunlight, which creates a warm, dry environment.
- Flowering shrubs such as choke cherry, Saskatoon and pin cherry attract various songbirds. Chickadees can be expected year round.
- Trails begin at the top of the riverbank at Ezio Faraone Park adjacent the High Level Bridge or down a stairway at Le Marchand Mansion at 116th St. and 100th Ave.
- Free parking is available at Victoria Park just off the River Valley Road in the valley bottom.
